Physical Education – Mr. Scott Reid

Students are encouraged to use the talents that God gave them when participating in activities in a compassionate and cooperative manner.  Physical Education classes are designed to provide a planned, progressive skill development.  Each student is encouraged to achieve and maintain a level of fitness in proportion to their individual needs.  Games and activities are fun and provide students opportunities to develop confidence about themselves and their movements.  Social skills such as teamwork, fair play and good sportsmanship are stressed at all grade levels.  In grades 3-8, we complete the President’s Fitness Challenge each year.

Gym class is 2 days/week for Kindergarten, 1st and 8th grade.  Grades 2-7 have gym 3 days/week.  Beginning in 4th grade, students are required to wear the St. Irene School gym uniform (t-shirt and shorts/sweatpants).  All grades are required to have athletic shoes to participate in gym activities.

Children in grades 5-8 are encouraged to participate in our school sports teams — cross country, volleyball, basketball and track.

Feel free to email me anytime.
